Por el Planeta, the first international conservation photography competition, is now open for submissions.
Por el Planeta is not just a photography contest, it’s a movement seeking to transform our relationship with the planet and its wildlife. The competition was born out of a desire to reaffirm narrative photography as a powerful tool that encourages nature conservation and generates an appreciation for biodiversity.
Presented by the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson every other year, the HCB Award is a prize of 35.000 Euros intended for photographers who have already completed a significant body of work with an approach close to that of documentary.
Now in the foundation fifth year, the 2015 submissions call continues to focus on stories of heroism, human dignity and injustice. From famine to disease, human suffering to the politics that threaten the lives of people all over the world, our grant programs give photographers and filmmakers the opportunity to share the pivotal and emotional stories that impact generations.
