In cadrul Sony World Photography Awards 2015 s-a desfasurat si un concurs de fotografie realizata cu telefonul mobile.Marele premiu Sony Mobile Phone Award 2015 , ales prin votul publicului din lista scurta de 20 de finalisti , a fost acordat lui Turi Calafato din Italia.
This image was taken in Sicily. I am working on a project called ‘A day on the beach’, a documentary project focused on the life on the sicilian beaches during the crowded months of summer. The project began on 2013 and in 2014(after I bought a new mobile phone) I took some photos for this project even with my mobile phone(these can be seen on my Instagram profile: https://instagram.com/turicalafato/ ). The shot was taken at the end of July 2014. It is usual to see scenes like this because people spend all day along at the beach and all the usual activities, like playing, eating, sllepping, etc., are done outdoors. All kind of people are seen, and it is a pleasure to contemplate at the same time so much of humanity enjoying and relaxing under the sun.
